In order to have your child grow up and be healthy and happy, you need a few things. Your child needs to have proper nutrition, proper rest and proper exercise. If these things occur, you have a good chance that your child will become a healthy adult. Unfortunately, not all children are not growing up healthy, and many are because they are not getting proper exercise. To help achieve children become healthier, school provide physical education to all children from elementary school to high school.
Currently the youth of the world does not take eating properly seriously. With fast food and bad eating habits, children need exercise and physical activity more than ever. In addition, many children spend too much time playing video games on the couch, instead of being outside participating in some form of physical activity. This is starting to cause our children to be out of shape and gaining more weight than they should.
Physical education in elementary schools is a good start to getting kids active. At this age it is important to get kids involved in activities. At this age games can help children learn about participation and sportsmanship in the playground. Competition is good but should not be the most important element.
When children get into their teen years, the activities they participate in should challenge them more. Competition should also be a bigger part of their activities and winning or losing should matter. At this age, students begin to play sports against other schools, and fitness and cardiovascular activities should be a part of their regular activities.
